Entering the Bank

The Gold Key

Sophie and Langdon drive to the Depository Bank of Zurich. The gold key opens the gate and the elevator. They descend to a private viewing room, where a host explains the process: the key and a ten-digit account number are needed to retrieve the safe-deposit box.
The Account Number
Sophie realizes the Fibonacci sequence is the account number. She enters 1123581321, and the conveyor belt delivers a large plastic crate. Inside is the rosewood box containing the cryptex.
Vernet's Betrayal

The Banker's Turn
The Confrontation
André Vernet, the bank president, realizes that Langdon and Sophie are wanted criminals. He demands the box back, pulling a gun. Langdon and Sophie refuse, but Vernet shoots a warning shot. They manage to escape by stealing the armored truck, leaving Vernet behind.
The Armored Truck
Sophie drives the armored truck out of the bank, but the police have already been alerted. They evade the roadblock by pretending to be a driver. Vernet later calls Fache, admitting his involvement, but he is too late.
Escape to Château Villette

The Hijacked Taxi
The Bois de Boulogne
After abandoning the armored truck, Sophie and Langdon hijack a taxi. The taxi driver, listening to the police radio, realizes who they are. Sophie pulls a gun and forces him to stop. Langdon drives but struggles with the manual transmission. They eventually reach the Bois de Boulogne.
Arrival at Teabing's
They leave the taxi and take the armored truck again, arriving at Château Villette. Langdon convinces Teabing to help them, and they hide the cryptex under the couch. The police are not far behind.
